Dr. Ruth Westheimer at Sex In Medicine Week, 2009
SUNY Downstate’s Sex in Medicine Week exists to improve our fluency in talking about sex, gender and reproductive health. Sex in Medicine Week will increase awareness, promote discussion and educate future health care professionals about issues of sexuality that affect their patients’ lives and the health care decisions they make. Our goal is to explore topics of sexuality not fully addressed elsewhere. This crucial part of our education will better prepare all Downstate students to provide exceptional service to our patients.
