Description: Presenters from the Self-Advocacy Association of New York State will focus on debunking the myths, stereotypes and prejudice that are so often cast upon the sexuality of people with developmental disabilities. Self-Advocates will share personal stories that will tie into addressing the bigger issues that many people with developmental disabilities face every day: accessing the right to relationships, exploring sexual identity, and experiencing the freedom of falling in love.

Title: Transgender Healthcare
Location: Special Functions Room
Description: This panel is a conversation between Pauline Park, Founder and Director of New York Association for Gender Rights Advocacy and Dru Levasseur, Transgender Rights Attorney for LAMBDA Legal. The speakers will address the rights, policies, and issues of transgender healthcare. Topics include the debate over Gender Identity Disorder reform, anti-discrimination laws in New York City protecting transgender people, and partnering with hospitals and providers to create healthcare that is responsive to the specific needs of transgender populations.
